“It is good for a man not to touch a woman.” — 1 Corinthians 7:1

This text is not to be taken literally at all i.e. a man cannot shake hands with a woman etc. The word “touch” here is used euphemistically (using less vulgar or offensive language to replace another). It translates the Greek verb “haptomai” (ἅπτομαι) which actually refers to carnal intercourse. This is proven by the succedent texts which instruct again pre-marital sex (see verses 2-9).
