What Is Genuine Salvation?
Text: Romans 10: 6-13, Ephesians 2:4- 9
The term ‘genuinely saved’ is used so freely in several Christian circles today that its true meaning has been lost. The typical meaning of genuine salvation to an average believer means to be “blameless before the Lord and completely obedient to His commands”
While all these are good and pleasing to the flesh, this is not the biblical meaning of being genuinely saved. In order to be saved, just one thing is required of you: to believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, period! Nothing more, nothing less- there are NO works involved in your salvation. You don’t have to completely obey God’s commands, perform good deeds, confess your sins daily to be genuinely saved — the Bible calls these dead (fruitless) works. (Hebrews 6: 1)
The day you believed in your heart and confessed with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, God saved you from ALL your sins and imputed His OWN Righteousness unto you- this is genuine salvation, you CANNOT lose it! You did not get saved by works therefore you CAN NEVER lose your salvation by works or lack of it. It is with your heart that you believe and are declared righteous by God and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved! Rejoice beloved, you have eternal security and salvation in Christ! Grace be unto you!
