Praying In Tongues
Text: Ephesians 6:18, 1 Corinthians 14:2-4
Praying in tongues is very vital for every believer, all Christians MUST speak in tongues. Praying in tongues edifies you— it builds up. When you pray in the spirit, you pray for things unknown by the Spirit of God. Praying in tongues is akin to a direct phone call to God or an elevator in an hundred-storey building. It is effortless but makes great impact.
Praying in the Spirit changes your words — they begin to carry such power that everyone feels the tangibility of God’s power when you speak. Speaking in tongues should be EFFORTLESS for the believer, the reason being that it is your blood-bought right. It is NOT contingent on your good deeds, it is because of what Christ did for you in Redemption!
Some believers have believed the lie that one has to be “holy” to be able to flow in the gift of tongues but actually, EVERYTHING you require to flow in the gift is ALREADY in you. Our Christian life should be a life of relaxing on the finished work of Christ. When you pray in the Spirit, your Spirit prays and makes intercessions to God. Your mind is ALWAYS fighting against the gift of tongues because to it, tongues is gibberish but your Spirit is making the greatest connection with God — you are speaking God’s OWN language! Today, practice tongues everywhere! You can do so under your breath, as you go about the day’s business. Live a continuous lifestyle of speaking in tongues and watch as the supernatural begins to take place in your life! Grace be unto you.
