The Gift of No Condemnation
Text: Romans 8:1, 33-34, John 16:5-11
Beloved, God is not judging you even when you sin! He is for you and not against you — you’re perfect in His eyes because you are in Christ. When you know this, you’ll know the real function of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is SO misunderstood today. He is believed to convict the believer of his sins — this is unbiblical and erroneous. The Holy Spirit is NOT in you to nag at you about your sins or to condemn you about your failures. In contrast, He is in you to convict you of your eternal righteousness in Christ Jesus (John 16:9-10, Hebrews 10:15-18).
When you fail and feel like the Holy Spirit is condemning you, throw that condemnation out of the window — it is from the devil. He is a roaring lion seeking whom to devour so when you sin, he will come to you and impersonate God’s anger but you can defeat him by simply knowing that “there is therefore NOW no condemnation left for those in Christ Jesus.” Are you in Christ Jesus? If yes, then you can NEVER EVER be condemned for your sins and failures.
The Holy Spirit will NEVER convict you of sins but of your righteousness in Christ Jesus. He is there when you have just sinned to remind you that ALL your sins — past, present & future cannot tamper with your eternal salvation! You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Cor. 5:21) You do not only have God’s Righteousness in you, You are God’s Righteousness ITSELF in Christ Jesus! Rejoice in this truth today.
